3 Miles

Today was a 3 mile run just to test some of the final pieces of equipment that I will be using Saturday. I felt like poop the first 2 miles the last mile was great.

Feet... Check, Legs... Check. All Systems GO!!!!!!!!

Did some easy spinning today with Stephanie. I did 30 minutes of the class standing. Standing is better because it is closer to running. Now all I can do is wait. I got a final check up from the foot doctor this afternoon... all feet systems are good to go.

My diet is cool. I am able to eat normal size meals without being too hungy. Thursday afternoon the food game will be on. Eat, eat and eat some more... until the last supper on Friday night.

My mind is super cool. I am using many of the techniques in Thinking On The Run-Mind Over Miles my new ebook.

BIG Tuesday Run

6:10AM, Red Rock Canyon
44 Degrees and it warmed up fast.
15 miles on the loop and road. To finish the workout off I did a 6 mile stretch of trail. Three miles of this is mostly climbing uphill to Sandstone Quarry. It is a true test of your fitness to see if you can maintain a run to the top. My friend Josh says, "if you can maintain 10 minute pace to the top you are doing great".

PS I just informed the stripper/lawyer that she has to push me super hard in the gym over the next few weeks. We'll see if she can nut up or shut up????????????/

16 miles that felt like 40

6AM, 57 degrees, sunny, winds W@5
trail and road mix
The first 5 miles sucked... BAD! I felt like I was going to die. The remaining 11 killed me but felt better than the first 5. I should be recovered later tonight. Just in time for 24 miles tomorrow AM.

Weights You Could Almost Call It A Workout

I am sore, tired and my joints feel like oatmeal.
Upperbody and core for 1 hour. The Stripper/Lawyer workout partner gave me a break today becaues of yesterdays effort.

Messed Up

I am going sideways on you...
Legs are dead, no quads, feet are swolen and look like hamburger.

Saturday L O N G Run

Red Rock Canyon
6:10 AM, 49 degrees, Pt. Cldy, winds from the E @ 8mph, rain in the area.
8hours and 15 minutes of solid running.
The first 5 hours was cool. Hour 5-6:30 great. Hour 6:30-7 god awful, miserable, stupid bad. Hour 7-8:15 ran this time approx. at 7:50 pace per mile.
Run was 70% trails, 30% park road (some dirt)
Entire run was completed by wearing 1 pr shoes.


Consumed during...
2 gal of water
18 Power gels
2 Hammer gels
4 Vegan Active Greens food bar
1 VHCD ( Very High Calorie Drink)
1 Fabes Pumpkin Pie
1 Liter of electrolytes
1 cup of Starbucks coffee

6AM, 46 degrees, calm and sunny
24 miles 80% trails
No problems, just lots of climbing.
