Monday in a strange NM town

Ran 10 miles in Alamogordo, NM. at 3:45 AM. It was 29 degrees, dark, and quiet. Did I mention that Alamogordo is 5794 feet above sea level. I was strained slightly. Nothing a few Enduro caps, black coffee, and a headlamp couldn't handle.

It is fun to run in strange places once and a while.

Weights At Las Vegas Athletic Club

4:30 AM Core, back and chest. Three more weeks of body part type workouts then a switch to some wired pre-race workouts. I noticed today... I am physically strong and somewhat bulky. My body weight today is 207LBS. That body weight is big for most. However, most of the races I have won were won at a body weight between 190-. I will easily lose 10 to 20 LBS before the race on April 2. In one thirty plus mile run I spend 5300 calories.

Tomorrow is BIG SATURDAY long run day.

2 hours of running into a 12mph headwind

4:30 AM Ran a medium pace run for 2 hours. The only thing that sucked was that the whole run felt like it was in to a 12 MPH headwind. That makes any run hard. However, wind does what wind does... it blows. Who cares... right. Just shut up and run!!!!!!!!

About some of my equipment

The fun stuff first...
I run almost all of my runs with a 30 gig Ipod.

I listen to everything on here. You name it I got it.

I love my HighGear watch

Stopwatch, temp, altimeter and data storage. Large display... good for running at 2am in the morning.

This next item is for men only or for women who love their men.
The product is for your beef and 2 vegies....Actually, mostly for your beef. You get it I think. If you don't send me an email and I will explain.

I had numbness and was very sensitive to cold. The manhood solved the problem plus some.
Strap one on....

More on shoes, food, supplements and clothing soon....

Sunday's BIG Weight Workout

Today officially marked the start of training for the American River 50 Miler. I worked out with my stripper-Lawyer (Looks like a stripper, but is a Lawyer) workout partner. Without boring you with all of the details ... we did 50 minutes of core work, 30 minutes of hip and leg stability exercises and finally legs and upperbody.
All together the workout lasted 2 hours and 5 minutes. We were dead after that one.

I'm Back!

It looks like I am back.

Today I did a 2 hour run. The purpose of the run was to run some downhills hard and fast to see if the knee would hold up and how it would react to the load.

No problems! My aerobic conditioning is great. My next race is April 2nd. The American River 50 Miler. I will start now letting you in on the training.

Tomorrow is a punishing weight and conditioning workout that takes almost 2hours to complete.
