15 Easy Miles

It's really funny when 15 miles is easy. It was over before it began. It takes me 30 minutes just to warm up.

Now we rest and recover. The taper begins!

Today I did one last intense weight workout. It was an upperbody only workout with tons of core work.

Just 30 minutes ago I ate 6 Flax waffles, 2 bananas, 6 vegan soy sausage, half of a tofu pie and 1/2 lb turkey Brest. FEED THE MACHINE!!!

On tap for tomorrow, 15 Miles at Red Rock... all on the trail.

Before Run Update

4:55 AM. I am drinking coffee, reading email, doing some writing on a new book and testing my blister. It is not good, but that won't matter in 60 minutes when I am on the road.

Today's fun is a 25 Mile run around the streets of Las Vegas, Henderson and up the side of Black Mountian. I will do this run at race pace.

After this run the taper and rest begin. The focus then is on 2 more tough weight workouts, mental prep., massage and acupuncture.

I will be running 25 miles while tons of fat slobs get ready to stuff themselves with foul and fat. Happy Thanksgiving or is it just Thursday?

Blister Problem...

...Worse than we thought. He cut and he cut and he cut and now I have a big hole in my toe. It was infected and inflamed and my toe was swollen... Big!

6 hours later it's feeling better. I will run 25 miles tomorrow at race pace. That's what Aleve is for...right!

Ouch!

I have a blister the size of my head on my toe. The thing hurts! So bad that I am going to the Podiatrist tomorrow to get it cut and drained. That's sexy.

If you don't take care of these things... they can ruin you. I found this out the hard way.
